The Era of Justin Trudeau’s Leadership Through Policing

Tom Marazzo, a member of Police on Guard, and an advocate for the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of all Canadians, highlights the impact the last three years has had on police and community relations.

Canadian police officers take an oath to uphold the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the training an officer receives is modelled after Sir Robert Peels principles of policing. The departure of maintaining these principles has led to a deterioration in the once fundamental relationship between the police and the communities they serve.

Thank you, Tom, for so articulately characterizing the issues that have arisen as a result of officers forgetting their oath and Sir Robert Peels principles.

Excellent video by Tom, laying out the truth of the relationship between police and the public.
AS Tom was, I grew up to respect the men and women who wore the uniform that kept us safe.
And yes, there were crooked cops back then, however, we never allowed the bad ones to sour our views of the good ones.
Only when they had to bow to political pressure did the communication begin to break down.
Immigrants arriving from countries where police were hated didn’t help.
And the rhetoric grew and the divide widened.
We need members of POG to make short (10 to 12 min) videos like this one, just expressing their views.
Let the public see and hear for themselves what the truth is.
