Support Detective Helen Grus of the Ottawa Police Service at her Upcoming Disciplinary Hearing on August 18th

The sentencing process involving Ottawa Police Detective Helen Grus has become far more than a routine disciplinary matter. What began as an internal proceeding has stretched into years of hearings, delays, and procedural disputes, which raises some valid questions on whether the process has become more about bureaucratic manoeuvring or meaningful discipline. With the tribunal now set to determine the penalty following her misconduct conviction, Detective Grus and her legal counsel will be appealing the decision, regardless of the outcome.

Det, Grus is receiving her disciplinary decision for a Police Service Act charge of Discreditable Conduct for allegedly seeking links between the Covid vaccine and deaths of children. They are seeking a potential punishment of a 2-year demotion.

As part of the SACA (Sexual Assault Child Abuse) unit, their mandate is to investigate all sudden and unexpected child deaths of children under the age of five. These investigations are crucial and mandated by law.

Her upcoming disciplinary decision is scheduled for August 18th, 2026, between 10:00 am -1:00 pm at 211 Huntmar Dr. in Kanata.

If you’re in the Ottawa area, please attend to support Det. Grus.

As of the time of this post (August 13th) the Ottawa Police Service has not posted a link for public viewing of this hearing.

It is unknown at this time whether OPS will have a link available to the public, please click here to check the OPS website for updated information.

Detective Grus has been denied legal funding by the Ottawa Police Association (OPA) board of directors.  The OPA dues are mandatory for all officers and civilians of the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) and the OPA has a duty to provide “fair representation” to its paying members.

Det. Grus will be appealing this decision, so there will be continued court costs on the future.

If you wish to donate to her legal fees, please click here for the link

Now, more than ever we need to stand alongside of these members and show our support!!
