A group of municipal employees from Ontario have started a class-action lawsuit, worth $125.9 million, over constitutional infringements and hardships resulting from the province’s Covid-19 mandates.
A recent case brought forward by the patients of Dr Sonja Kustka, a physician under investigation by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) for writing two mask exemptions, has ended in a ruling against them.
On February 21st, 2023, the Federal Court ruled in favour of the government on the government’s motion to strike which had been argued on January 19th, 2023.
The next course of action will be to appeal. We will keep you updated as this case proceeds.
As mentioned in our previous update post in December 2022, the Defendants’ (Government) made a motion to strike, and the Plaintiffs (Federal Employees’) responded.
The courts have agreed to hear the motion to strike in person on January 19th, 2023, at 9:30 am for a period of 3 hours.
