A 70yr old grandfather was charged and acquitted with mischief and police obstruction, Feb 12th, 2022, when assumed to be the owner of a child’s red wagon carrying jerry cans thought to contain gasoline destined for convoy vehicles.
The Crown has filed an appeal. With weak notes and conjecture, relying solely on the convoy’s “impact on Ottawa” to give teeth to their case.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms reports that, Christine DeCaire was arrested on February 18th, 2022, after the Emergencies Act was invoked. She was charged with mischief, obstructing/resisting an officer, and disobeying a Lawful Order. She has been acquitted by the Ontario Court of Justice on March 23, 2023, of all charges laid against her.

Alberta’s Minister of Justice Tyler Shandro, alongside the Canadian Constitution Foundation and Canadian Civil Liberties Association, confirmed that they will move forward with legal action against the Trudeau government for their invocation of the Emergencies Act (EA) last year to end the Freedom Convoy.
