The Supreme Court of Canada has denied hearing a Constitutional challenge regarding Covid mandates for five Manitoba Churches. This is the final ruling for a group of churches who stood together against the Manitoba government, challenging their covid restrictions as having unfairly targeted their fundamental freedoms of religion and peaceful assembly.
Leah McInnes, a Registered Nurse in Saskatchewan, has been cleared of all wrongdoing after being accused of spreading misinformation by the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
Evan Blackman participated in the Ottawa Freedom Convoy in February of 2022. As a result, he was arrested and charged with mischief and obstructing police.
Blackman plead not guilty to all charges and was scheduled for trial October 23, 2023. Due to the lack of evidence supporting the charges, and poor recollections of the officer, all charges were dismissed.
A Charter case brought forward last year by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, on behalf of a group of eight Ontario residents, was struck down as moot indicating that, since the mandates have ended, there is no longer any value to Canadians in pursuing an outcome.
