Canadian Frontline Nurses to Appeal Recent Case Dismissal
Ontario Superior Court Justice Marie-Andree Vermette dismissed a lawsuit brought forward by Canadian Frontline Nurses, against Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) and an unidentified news source, for libel. On December 23rd Vermette dismissed this case using the SLAPP law.
Canadian Frontline Nurses are appealing the decision.

Federal Employee Lawsuit Update – January 2023
As mentioned in our previous update post in December 2022, the Defendants’ (Government) made a motion to strike, and the Plaintiffs (Federal Employees’) responded.
The courts have agreed to hear the motion to strike in person on January 19th, 2023, at 9:30 am for a period of 3 hours.
New Rules Added to Access for Information Requests
Once again, our government has quietly modified the systems, we use to ensure accountability, without consultation.
The already painfully slow Access to Information process was revamped to now include a requirement for legal identification to be submitted along with the request.
