Global Ranking of Human Freedom Sees Canada's Rank Affected

It’s no surprise to any of us in Canada to hear that our freedoms have been eroded drastically under our current leadership. The whole world took notice when the convoy brought global awareness and our government responded with even more aggression towards its people.

It’s also no surprise then that Canada is no longer considered a world leader in Human freedom or quality of life.

For the first time in over 12 years Canada has fallen from the top 10. The Human Freedom Index (HFI), used to rate countries based on various indicators of personal freedom such as freedom of movement, speech, assembly, religion, and economic freedom, has now placed Canada at number 13, attributing the drop to the government’s pandemic response. The index uses the term ‘freedom’ as “implying the absence of coercive constraint” and where individuals “have the right to lead their lives as they wish, as long as they respect the equal rights of others.” That description clearly shows why we have fallen in the eyes of the world, and in the eyes of the citizens of Canada.

In today’s Canada you are censored, judged, ridiculed and, if it suits the needs of our leaders, treated as less than human for doing nothing more than exercising your guaranteed charter rights for protecting yourself and your children, for trying to ensure they enjoy the same freedoms we did. It is hard to be proud of our country right now, but we know it is only temporary. Canada, the True North Strong and Free, will return better than before because now we can see what we stand against.

Police on Guard will always stand with Canadians and our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We look forward to seeing Canada return as one of the best-ranked countries in the world for human rights and quality of life.
