Calgary Pizzeria Accused of Covid Regulations Sues Alberta Government After Charges Dropped

Jesse Johnson, former owner of Without Papers Pizza in Calgary, is seeking his day in court after his charges, for refusing to discriminate based on vaccination status, were dismissed last November.

Mr. Johnson was targeted by bylaw officers for allowing diners to partake without having to show proof of vaccination. For taking this stand he lost everything: his businesses, marriage, home and savings. Then, after all of the damage had been done, his charges were simply dismissed (see our original post ‘Calgary Pizzeria Accused of Covid Regulations Sees Bylaw Violation Dropped’).

Mr. Johnson is now suing the government of Alberta, the City of Calgary, and Deena Hinshaw directly, in hopes of setting a precedence against this medical segregation.

In the meantime, Jesse has relocated and his new business is flourishing in Windermere BC under the name POW Pizza. Word has spread of what he has been willing to risk, to stand for his principles and do his part to protect our freedoms, and now  Freedom-lovers from across Canada are making an effort to support his new venture.

In his own words…

“It cost me everything. I lost my restaurant, my other two restaurants in Calgary, my marriage, my family, my houses, my wealth, and a good portion of my sanity.”

“We are suing the city of Calgary, the province of Alberta, and Deena Hinshaw — she will have to attest for what she did to the people of Alberta.”

It seems obvious if you’re paying attention, that there was never really any intention of holding business owners like Jesse, or our Pastors, or anyone else slapped with hefty fines for defying the covid mandates, to the rule of law. Probably because they knew in advance that the law wasn’t on their side to start with. Or, more likely, because their intention all along was to bankrupt, break and alienate anyone who dared stand in opposition.

In virtually every case, the government has dropped all charges before the accused had ever had their day in court. It seems pretty intentional, not to mention petty, abusive and a gross waste of taxpayer funds.
