Ontario Mayor denied access to Township Office due to Vaccination Status

In this day and age, it’s hard to find men and women with the commitment to support their communities as public servants, when the biggest reward often comes in the form criticism and fleeting thanks. As such, its baffling to hear stories about devoted public servants being prevented from fulfilling their duties. And yet, here we are.

Dave Bylsma, Mayor of West Lincoln Ontario, has been denied access to council meetings, municipal facilities and even his own offices for the past 8 months. All because he has chosen to decline a vaccine that has undeniably failed to do what they were designed to and, more importantly, demonstrated the potential for serious risk. In a further twist, the community policy indicates that he would be welcome to attend freely as a citizen, it is only staff who are held to this mandate. Unfortunately, the role of Mayor is 24/7 so he does not have the freedom to be ‘a citizen’. He’s been left to try to fulfill his duties from the parking lot, signing bylaws on the hood of his car, and his frustration is mounting “Enough is enough. I’ve been stripped of every responsibility that’s not statutory”.

This is a similar story to that of Councillor Harold Jonker who was recently penalized, losing 30 days’ pay along with other punitive actions, for attending the freedom convoy in Ottawa to speak up for the rights of those in his community and his country. More effort wasted to penalize people who have broken no laws and want only to support others.

Bodily autonomy is an inalienable right of all Canadians. As is informed consent, which includes the right to decline treatments. Yet federal, provincial, and municipal governments across Canada continue to ignore this fact and enforce unreasonable and ineffective mandates through intimidation and coercion.

Join us in speaking up, it is time for this to stop.
