Urgent: Windsor High School Walkout Update

First off, I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all those who have been there to support me through all of this. From that first night that I posted the announcement about organizing a walkout for my school, I was expecting maybe a few kids to show up. 3 days later, with the help of many amazing social media groups, my message spread all around Canada and thousands have reached out to me with such love and support.

It has been largely positive however there has been opposing views that have been extremely negative. Due to the manner in which the school handled this situation and because of some of the hatred and attacks that I have received, I have reluctantly decided to separate myself from this. Although I fully support your right to peacefully protest, my family and I have made the difficult decision that I will no longer be able to follow through with this walkout that was intended to take place at Holy Names Catholic High School at 2pm, alongside my fellow students.

Please don’t let this discourage you. Our message has spread and our voices have been heard. This is just the beginning! I have no words to describe the amount of gratitude I have for all who have encouraged me to keep standing up for our inalienable rights and freedoms.

May we continue to pray for our leaders in our schools and community, that they have the courage and strength to stand up for what’s right.

This has been an extremely difficult decision for me, however, I feel this is best for everyone involved. I pray that you all continue to not walk in fear, but be led by God in all that you do.

I’m sorry if this news has let any of you down.

Sincerely, James
