I served 15 years with the Canadian Armed Forces, including three UN tours overseas. I prided myself, and my service, on the efforts made to liberate and educate, those less fortunate in their freedoms, than we were here in Canada. I am ashamed, and deeply saddened to recognize the same oppression, and blatant disregard for basic human rights, that I fought tirelessly against in foreign countries, now rearing their ugly heads here in Canada. I believe that upholding the rights of Canadians as defined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, is of the utmost importance, and will continue to act accordingly, and to educate as many citizens as I am able, to do the same.
