For close to three weeks Canadians peacefully gathered in Ottawa to protest covid mandates. Unfortunately what we saw was government sanctioned violence against people exercising their fundamental Charter rights. Citizens that were lawfully protesting were violently arrested, trampled by police mounted units, and tear gassed.

Police on Guard has received the attached social media conversation in which active Ontario police Staff Sergeant Tara Henderson is openly condoning and supporting the use of tear gas on protesters. The language used, is in itself offensive and subject to discipline under the Police Services Act. Police on Guard does not condone the statements of this officer and will continue to stand for Canadians guaranteed Charter rights.

The public is reminded that third party complaints can be filed with the Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD)
