Another Lawsuit Filed in Ontario Over Vaccine Mandates

A group of municipal employees from Ontario have started a class-action lawsuit, worth $125.9 million, over constitutional infringements and hardships resulting from the province’s Covid-19 mandates.
Specifically, each plaintiff is pursuing monetary damages for Charter violations, constitutional infringements, and common-law torts. The amount pursued by each individual is equal to $550k and is comprised of separate claims for intimidation, deprivation of constitutional rights, mental distress and anguish, Section 7 Charter violations and punitive damages.
Plaintiffs of the lawsuit include former employees of the Toronto Transit Commission, City of Toronto Police and Fire Services, City of Hamilton Health Services among numerous others; primarily first responders and essential employees.
The group is represented by Rocco Galati of the Constitutional Rights Center In his statement of claim, he states that dismissing someone from their employment for refusing the COVID-19 inoculations is unconstitutional, in that there is no “source of jurisdiction under the Constitution Act, 1867 to decree and medical treatment.”
He also asserts that the vaccine mandates violate section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, in that they violate the right to bodily and psychological integrity, and further declares that the vaccine mandates and PCR tests hold no basis scientifically or medically.
Many of us can relate to the unnecessary and unrelenting hardships of the mandates and their far-reaching restrictions. We have endured much as a result of the unlawful over-reach of our government. How many lives have been affected?
A win in this case could set strong precedence, setting the stage for a multitude of lawsuits across Canada.
We stand with those willing to fight to uphold our Charter and the constitutional rights of all Canadians and look forward to a positive outcome in all such legal pursuits.
